Cursor & Namespace: Partnering with Cursor to give cloud agents a real computer

For cloud agents to be useful at many of the largest enterprises, they need to execute on dynamically scheduled pools of machines they trust. That's why we're partnering with Cursor to give cloud agents a real computer. In short, Cursor starts and manages the agent, while what the agent actually does (shell commands, file edits, repo access, builds, tests) runs on Namespace Devboxes.

Not just Linux

Devboxes are full development environments with your codebase, test suite, databases, and network access. You can select the machine size, operating system, base image, Git repo, and much more for your agents' development environments. Notably, We support Mac, Linux, and soon, Windows.

This matters because your agent can't build iOS or macOS apps without a Mac. With Namespace Devboxes, you can spin up a real Mac for each Cursor Cloud Agent, which can now do that work in a macOS environment, powered by Apple's M5 chip.

Built on a shared engineering foundation

None of this is a one-off. Devboxes are built on the same engineering foundation as the rest of Namespace, so every cloud agent inherits far more than a machine to run on. Your Linux-based cloud agents can offload macOS-only compilation jobs with Remote Bazel Execution, and speed up image builds with Docker layer caching through pre-configured remote Docker builders, with no extra setup needed.

The same foundation brings security and access controls out-of-the-box, too. You can lock down exactly what your agents reach with egress filtering, and grant them scoped access across your organization with federated access.

Cursor and more

Cloud agents are taking on a growing share of the pull requests developers are merging. As their role expands, the compute they run on matters more too. We already have first-class integrations for not just Cursor, but also Devin and Claude.
