Infrastructure Software Engineer

EngineeringHybrid / ZurichFull-time

About the role

Namespace provides high-performance developer services that enable engineering teams across industries to ship better code faster. Our flagship product is specialized hosted cloud infrastructure optimized specifically for build and test workflows—tasks critical to every software development lifecycle. Teams using Namespace consistently achieve build and test runtime improvements ranging from 2x to 10x.

Namespace's approach is low-friction, designed for immediate integration into existing developer toolchains (GitHub Actions, Docker, Bazel), empowering teams to experience tangible results within just five minutes. With an end-to-end stack optimized for high performance—including compute, memory, storage, and networking—Namespace delivers capabilities and efficiencies unmatched by traditional cloud providers.

Own the software that drives our hardware. You'll write the control planes, automation, and observability that keep our global fleet fast, efficient, and reliable, while charting a path to scale that continues to increase the number of "machines under management" per engineer.

What you'll do

  • Automate the fleet – build services for provisioning, health checks, upgrades, and incident remediation
  • Uphold reliability – embed observability, graceful degradation, and rollback paths into every layer you touch
  • Architect the network – design and evolve a high-throughput, low-latency fabric tailored to our high performance use-cases
  • Ship software, not scripts – develop clean, testable code (mostly Go) that treats our fleet like a first-class API
  • Drive efficiency – improve utilization and power-to-performance ratios so capacity grows slower than usage
  • Partner across the stack – work with product, infra, and platform teams to scope and deliver features like storage-aware scheduling, cache volumes, and other developer-facing features

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience engineering large-scale infrastructure—writing the software that runs fleets, not just operating existing hyperscalers
  • Depth in network architecture, data-center design, and performance tuning
  • Hands-on time deploying and managing compute hardware at scale (servers, switches, etc)
  • Fluency with modern orchestration and automation tooling (Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible—plus the judgment to know when to build vs. buy)
  • A track record of delivering reliable systems and measurable efficiency gains
