# Delete Tenants

> Remove a tenant when a customer leaves your platform.

When a customer leaves your platform, delete their tenant.
Deleting a tenant also stops new credentials from being issued for it, and the resources it owns are removed or cordoned.

Deleting tenants requires a [partner client](/docs/platform/tenants/clients#partner-client). The examples start from `partnerClient`.

<Warning>
  Deleting a tenant cannot be undone. Save anything you need from the tenant before you delete it.
</Warning>

## Delete a tenant

`RemoveTenant` takes the tenant ID.

<CodeGroup>
  ```typescript TypeScript theme={null}
  await partnerClient.tenants.removeTenant({ tenantId: "tenant_lqrj7qre0ts32" });
  ```

  ```go Go theme={null}
  _, err := partnerClient.Tenants.RemoveTenant(ctx, &iamv1beta.TenantReference{
  	TenantId: "tenant_lqrj7qre0ts32",
  })
  if err != nil {
  	log.Fatal(err)
  }
  ```
</CodeGroup>

After the call returns:

* The tenant no longer appears when you [list tenants](/docs/platform/tenants/list).
* Existing credentials for the tenant stop working.
* Resources owned by the tenant are removed, but not necessarily immediately. They may stay until the platform's cleanup runs. To request immediate removal, contact [support@namespace.so](mailto:support@namespace.so).

If you only have your customer ID, find the tenant ID first with [List and find tenants](/docs/platform/tenants/list#find-a-tenant).
